Frequently Asked Questions

General

Your care begins with a thorough assessment by one of our experienced healthcare professionals. If you are seeing a physiotherapist, they will evaluate your symptoms, discuss your health history, and perform a detailed physical examination to identify the source of your pain or movement limitation. This may involve observing how you move, guiding you through specific movements, and assessing joint mobility, strength, and function.

Together with your therapist we will develop a personalized treatment plan designed to address the root cause of your condition, develop strategies to support recovery, and help you return to your normal activities as efficiently and safely as possible. And the great news is treatment typically begins during the first visit!

Please bring any relevant medical documents to your appointment, such as physician referrals, imaging reports, or notes from other healthcare providers. This information allows our experienced team to better understand your condition and coordinate your care effectively.

We also recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being assessed or treated. Being able to expose the affected region (such as the shoulder, knee, or lower back) helps your therapist perform a thorough assessment and deliver the best treatment.

After your visit, we accept debit, credit card, etransfer, or direct billing to your extended health insurance provider. You will also be provided with a receipt that you can submit directly to your insurance company for reimbursement. We are also happy to accept WSIB and MVA claims for physiotherapy services.

Yes! We are authorized to treat patients under Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) claims.

WSIB Coverage

To start a WSIB claim, report your workplace injury to your employer and WSIB as soon as possible.

Once your claim is approved, our physiotherapists can assess your injury and begin treatment immediately. A doctor’s note is not required.

With direct billing to WSIB, we make the process simple so you can focus on recovery and a safe return to work.

Motor Vehicle Accident Coverage

If you’ve been involved in an MVA, you will first need to contact your auto insurance provider to open a claim. After that, our physiotherapists can assess your injuries and begin treatment right away. A doctor’s referral is not required.

With direct billing to your insurance company, you can focus on recovery while we take care of the paperwork.

No, a referral is not needed to see a physiotherapist in Ontario, including at our clinic in Kitchener. That said, some insurance plans may require one for reimbursement, so it’s always a good idea to check with your provider.

In most cases, physiotherapy is not covered by OHIP unless you’re eligible under specific government programs.
